La Canasta was founded in 1962 by our parents, Richard and Carmen Abril. In 2022, we proudly celebrated 60 years of serving the Valley of the Sun—a milestone made possible by the support of our community and the dedication of our family.

For more than six decades, we have honored their legacy by staying true to the original recipes they created. Every dish is prepared with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, bringing you the authentic flavors of Sonoran-style Mexican cuisine just as they intended.

At our Capitolio location, we’ve added a beautiful copper dome over the patio as a tribute to the nearby Arizona State Capitol and to our parents’ deep love for their home state.
