The original La Canasta Restaurant was founded in 1962 by our parents, Richard and Carmen Abril. In 2022, we proudly celebrated 60 years of serving the Valley of the Sun.

For more than six decades, we have continued to honor their legacy by using the original recipes they created—made with only the freshest, finest ingredients in all of our Sonoran-style dishes. We remain committed to preserving the same authenticity, flavor, and consistency that reflect our parents’ pride, love, and dedication to preparing delicious food for our customers each day.

At La Canasta “Capitolio”, our family installed a beautiful copper dome over our patio as a heartfelt tribute to the Arizona State Capitol, located just a few blocks away, and to our parents’ love for their home state.
